The certificate of the CA can be retrieved in various formats:

ASCII
a human-readable form of the certificate
DER
binary DER format (file with .DER extension), suggested for automatic installation into MS Internet Explorer 4.x or higher
CER
binary DER format (file with .CER extension), suggested for automatic installation into Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox, SeaMonkey, ...
CRT
binary DER format (file with .CRT extension)
PEM
base-64 encoding of the DER binary format, with PEM armours
